Baseball and Softball Season

Walter was part of the Pony League again this year playing coach pitch baseball.  This is his third year on the Fire team. 

When he was up to bat, he liked to pretend he was an old man, holding his back and using his bat as a cane.

He was able to make some nice base hits. 

He base running was impressive - great stride and speed with those long legs!

Though during most of the game, he was looking at us asking when he could eat - snacks still being his favorite part of sports.  

It was a good year! Not sure if it will be his last or not, after all he has declared "he is not a sports guy".

Johanna was part of DGIL again this year on the Blue Diamonds team.

She tried out the catcher position.  Definitely not her top choice but she filled the role when needed.

She had some great hits - even hit one to the grass of the outfield.

And enjoys the action of positions like shortstop and first base.   

The team got 3rd place in their league!
