Broken Bones

Walter was using the gymnastics bar on the playground during school recess and fell hard on his hand.  School called and asked Michelle to stop in and take a look at him.  Walter was still crying pretty hard when Michelle arrived - which is not normal for him.  He usually pops up after getting hurt and says “I’m OK!”  So off to the doctor’s office they went and Tony met them there.  Walter broke two bones in his left wrist.  They called it a “compression fracture”, breaking a bone on each side of his wrist because of landing hard on his hand.

Walter had a heavy brace and sling for a couple days (to allow swelling to go down) before getting a cast.  The first evening he complained about a bit of pain but felt better with just one dose of  tylenol and no complaints after.  Other than needing help changing his clothes, Walter wasn’t held back at all by the cast, which was a little stressful for Michelle and Tony.   If he fell, he would hop up and say “I’m okay!”.  One time, Michelle was apparently taking too long observing Walter (from across the room) after he popped back up.  Walter noticed and annoyed said, “MOMMMM, I said I am OK!”

Walter was able to get the cast off after about 4 weeks.  He wasn’t quite sure what to do with his arm for the first evening.  At dinner, he held his arm as if the cast was still on and said it kind of hurt.  But the next day, he was back to normal!

Easter 2021

Michelle got her second covid vaccination on Good Friday and spent Saturday recovering from side effects.  The rest of the Kluesners were able to get together for Easter and do some epic chalk work as well as an egg hunt.

The Easter Bunny came and Walter held his own in the Easter egg hunt.

And a few Arnolds were able to stop by on Sunday for an extra Easter egg hunt outside.

Kicking Off 2021
