Walter 11 Months
Walter is getting closer to walking but isn't quite there yet. He can stand by himself and even took a couple of steps once, but he seems to have a lack of desire or lack of confidence to take it any further than that. If you reach out to him to try and get him to walk into you, he does more of a fall into you. And if you stand him up by himself with nothing to hold on to, he immediately sits down. However, he still does get around well holding onto the furniture and walking - his height and perception abilities are working against us as we are running out of places to hide things or put them out of reach. He is also a pretty fast crawler, especially when you say "No Walter!". He can mimic sounds like mama, dada, and papa but hasn't started his own words yet. He continues to have a very easy smile, and in fact you most often see him smiling. Walter moved from the baby room to the toddler room at school. He went through the typical transition period, initially crying as we dropped him off - even as we approached the room. But he adjusted well and is enjoying the additional play opportunities.
