The kids are no longer going to the same school - and they have different start times! Johanna starts ONE HOUR earlier than Walter.
Johanna was all set for middle school with a new raincoat, umbrella, and shoes.
All of the 6th graders started one day before the rest of middle schoolers and Tony walked her to Washington. Johanna isn't sure she is going to like having so many different teachers, but we know she will do great! I think she will enjoy having more time for orchestra, choir, and other activities - as well as some additional free time after school.
Michelle walked Walter to school on his first day in 4th grade with Mrs. DeMaio. He gave some extra hugs on the first day, perhaps not used to being at Bryant without Johanna. But later that day when talking with his "crying teacher" (social-emotion skills teacher), he mentioned he thought it was going to be a great year!
The start of the school year also meant the end of our time at Mercy Daycare. We officially removed the letters that marked Tony's window so the kids knew where to look for him from the daycare playground.
