Staycation 2017

Tony and Michelle's annual staycation - our favorite part of the year! In addition to the first day of school fun, we were able to make it out to our favorite hike spot at Devil's Lake.

And we got a little work done around the house too with Tony building some great storage space.

First Day of School

Johanna started her last year of preschool at Mercy Day Care with Abby and Jenna in the Red Room. Johanna knows all of her teachers and classmates so she is comfortable with the change.  Walter started his first year of preschool in the 2 Year Old Yellow Room with Jenny and Chris.  His big change is that he now eats breakfast in the kitchen with Johanna in the morning.

Johanna decided to wear her Christmas dress for the first day.

Walter wasn't too excited about the picture thing.  He wanted to be watching a show - "My Turn!"

Mom and Dad used the day to go kayaking.  We tried the Grant River by Potosi.  It was a little more adventurous that our other trips with Michelle dumping her kayak and having a very cold ride - so she booked a massage for the end of the week to make up for it.

Classes

Michelle spent the first part of the year studying to earn a certificate.  It might have been harder on Tony than Michelle, and Johanna already despises the word homework.

Hopefully Michelle can spend the second half of the year completing more "classes" like this.  Because you know it is a good class if you can drink wine during it.

Summer Sports

Johanna played soccer again this year over the summer.  By the end of the season, she couldn't really fit into her soccer cleats anymore but she did succeed in scoring her first goal!

Johanna also tried a couple of dance and gymnastics classes.  She couldn't seem to decide which one she liked better but for her one fall sport, she chose swimming.
