So. Much. Basketball.

We were able to go to an Iowa Women's Basketball game in January.  

Jennifer and Michael met us there and Jen gave Johanna a t-shirt for Johanna's favorite player, Gabbie Marshall #24. 

Johanna loved every minute of it.  Walter appreciated the headphones.

Johanna played in her first basketball tournament in February.  The girls enjoyed the extra hang out time.  They had a win, a loss, and a REALLY close third game which became very challenging when the other team began to use full court press. 

Her team recruited a couple of additional players and played an extended season at the Dream Center. (Teammates: Gabby, Eleanor, Johanna, Gemma, Joy, Trista. Coaches: Mike, Tony)

We also attended a couple of Loras Women's Basketball games.  When they played against Wartburg, we got several family members to attend with us.

The big fun in basketball this year  (especially for Johanna and Tony) was watching the Hawkeyes play and even make it to the finals of the NCAA Tournament.  Johanna wore her favorite Hawkeye shirt for every game and would pass around the troll, asking you to rub its butt for good luck.

Iowa's win against South Carolina in the final four was a big, fun surprise.  And Johanna liked to run around the basement after a big win. 

Walter was unfazed by the excitement but appreciated being able to stay up late playing games.
