Johanna's First Track Meet

 Johanna was so excited this year to finally be able to participate in Track.  She has long said that short distance running will be her sport and felt she was a natural for long jump because it "runs in the family" (Tony's cousin was a long jumper).   She chose to wear #24 for Gabbie Marshall (her favorite Iowa Hawkeye basketball player).

The team practiced after school for a few weeks before participating in the city-wide track meet.

Johanna qualified for finals of the 50 Meter Dash and got second overall! 

She was also second in the city for long jump!

We got to cheer on her cousin Jason too, and they both had a great cheering squad. 

And in June, Johanna participated in the Grandview Gallop (1 mile kids run) with another cousin, Ben.

It was an early morning and a hot day but luckily the race ends with a bomb pop (or three).

And this year it also ended with a birthday celebration.
