Sept 1st marked the beginning of the new school year! Walter started his first day at Mercy Daycare in the Violet Room with Laura, and Johanna moved to the Yellow Room with Jenny and Chris. Walter had a great first week! He is finally starting to increase the number of ounces he drinks but is still working on taking longer naps. Johanna misses her friends and teachers from the Green Room. The first several days brought tears but we are so glad to have Chris (Tony's cousin) as her teacher once again. Since she started eating breakfast at home so she can go straight into her room and play (instead of eating in the kitchen at school), things have been better. She still fusses about not wanting to go to school, but its hard to get her to leave at the end of the day so we know she is having a great time. Mom and Dad used the first week of school as an opportunity to have some couple time! We kayaked the Maquoketa River in Monticello once again as well as golfed at Lacoma. Michelle started work the following week which was also a fine transition.
