Winter 2024

We enjoyed watching Iowa Women's Basketball this year.  The team was so popular that all tickets at Carver Hawkeye arena were sold out for all home games!  Instead, we got tickets to see them play the Wisconsin Badgers at the Kohl Center in December. It was general admission so we arrived early and waited outside for an hour.

Walter opted to hang tight with some video games and earmuffs.

Johanna enjoyed the game!

Over Christmas break, Michelle got to have a paint night with Karen.

Also over Christmas break, we had Molly for a sleep over.  Walter was excited to have his first friend sleepover.  They were able to play outside in the snow and build a snowman.  Molly ended up sleeping in Johanna's bed and Walter sleep in his own room (he likes his routine).

There were two big snow storms in one week in January.  The kids had two snow days and one virtual learning day (which involved them completing several worksheets at home).  There was so much snow that the kids didn't actually play in it much.  They were asked to clean the snow off the deck and Walter actually really enjoyed it.

We checked out the Putnam Museum in Davenport in February.

On an unseasonably warm day in February, Johanna broke out her bike.

We also started bowling a bit more over winter since it's an activity the whole family enjoys!  Walter generally doesn't like to get changed on the weekend or leave the house - but if you mention it's for bowling - "why didn't you say so!" and he will run to get changed.
