Johanna joined her first basketball team in 2021. They were part of the 3rd/4th grade league through the YMCA, team name Blue Jays, Johanna #10, and all games were played at Carver Elementary. Johanna's friend from Bryant was on the team and her dad was the coach. Tony also helped coach.
The games were more fast pace and aggressive than one might expect. They played against a few 4th grade teams which was rough. They GREATLY improved throughout the season as it was many of the girls first time on a team. They had more fun in the games they won, and always did a good job. Johanna particularly liked getting the jump balls and always hustled down the court.
