Our Big Move

At the beginning of October 2016, we said good-bye to 1896 Carter Rd.  Tony lived there for over 10 years (April 2005) and Michelle over 6 years.  The process started in the summer when Tony and Michelle used their entire vacation clean out the house and get it show ready.  The remainder of the summer was a bit of a blur as we had showings pretty much every day until the house had an accepted offer a few weeks later.  Between selling a house, finding a house, packing and moving, you can see why we look so tired!  But we used our last day to have some fun in the backyard.

Since our new house wasn't ready to move in, we stayed with Mike and Karen for a few weeks.  They were so kind to move to the downstairs bedroom to give us all our own rooms and space - Johanna had the main bedroom, Walter had the changing room, and Tony and Michelle had the spare room.  Luckily the weather was nice and the kids were able to play outside often.  Unfortunately, Michelle got pneumonia and the flu in her time there and was more often sick than healthy.

After making offers on six different homes, we finally got an accepted offer on our new home.  (Which was actually the 5th house we offered on but the seller eventually came back to accept our same offer she previously denied.)  We closed on the new house on Halloween 2016 and moved in a few days later.  We love the neighborhood and the space the house offers.

The move did come with a little drama.  Tony had to get stitches after running into the locking mechanism of his parent's shed.
